Soap stars had to deal with some real-life drama earlier this week. On Tuesday, when an earthquake that measured over five on the Richter scale stopped people in their tracks from Los Angeles to San Diego, DAYS OF OUR LIVES stopped tape, allowing the cast and crew to evacuate the building.  [Source]

Hopefully everyone was safe.  It looked pretty bad judging by the Judge Judy piece I saw on CNN and YouTube.  That ended up interrupting their taping as well.

I know you’ve all heard this song and dance for awhile now but seriously we have the new layout!  It just arrived about an hour ago from my good friend Mandy of AM2M designs.  She’s responsible for this gorgeous current layout.  I can’t wait for you all to see it!

I’ve added more exclusive Days stills to the gallery only viewable to registered members of the gallery (as time goes by I’ll make them public).  They’re from July of 2007 when Steph was with Jeremy. There are 5 stills uploaded to this album.

I added 14 caps of Shelley being interviewed by the good folks of NBC (also Rachel and Kristen are featured) about their special guest, Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart.  I’ll be adding the clip to the video vault a little later on.

Wooooooooooooooow – ok so TV Guide Canada’s Nelson Bronco is reporting exclusive scoop in his Sud’s Report that Days of Our Lives head Writer Dena Higley has up and quit the sudser.  I’ll quote his mini article on the situation here.

Days of Our Lives, Global/NBC — Breaking exclusive News: Dena Higley quits!
OK, Salemites: party at my house and don’t bring your own booze, because I’m supplying it all! Super-reliable sources tell The Suds Report Dena Higley quit as head writer last week. “If you read her NBC blogs, the writing has been on the wall for a while; she’s been unhappy with the media criticism of her work,” says one insider. So what’s the official reason “for doing daytime TV a favour?” Two words: Ed Scott, Days’ co-executive producer. “Dena said she couldn’t work with him any longer,” explains the source. And the news gets better: Sony wants to replace Higley, who is still under investigation for scab writing during the writers’ strike, with former Y&R Emmy-winning scribe Jack Smith or Genoa City’s current executive producer Josh Griffith. So, what’s the bad news in all of this? “[Executive producer] Ken Corday was on his many vacations when she bolted without warning, and when he found out he told everyone not to worry because he was going to talk her out of leaving,” continues the stunned source. Yikes! Corday is officially trying to cancel his parent’s beloved series, methinks. Memo to Corday: Don’t do it. Higley has given you the out of a lifetime! Hire Smith or Griffith (so Sony doesn’t have to pay him out of his contract when CBS chief Barbara Bloom realizes her dream) — or both!

The behind-the-scenes drama is just a tad bit better than what we see on-screen nowadays. Now I’m not the biggest Nelson supporter and I don’t take his word as the gospel like most people/sites do so I would advise you to take this with a huge grain of salt.  We could see a report surface tomorrow saying this is absolut rubbish and not to believe a word of it (you have to decide).  Honestly, I kind of liked what Dena has done with Days in Hogan’s abscence – I wasn’t the biggest Dena fan when she wrote for OLTL because she made the soap unwatchable for me but she has given me and other some Stax lovin’ but some storylines seem really slow like the Autism story that I’m really interested in seeing since I know people with that.  By the looks of it I’m sure GH: Nightshift will appraoch their autism s/l before Days.  Also, from my understanding she is still under investigation from her scab writing during the Writer’s Guild of Ameria (WGA) strike.

But I can’t stress enough that you have to take this information with a huge grain of salt enough.  Now if you read this on Soap Opera Digest/Weekly Online then you might have cause to worry.  So I’ll keep you updated with what he’s talking about on Monday since he’s apparently revealing more tomorrow.

Which brings me to my next order of business, please help me welcome Colleen to the SSO staff; you may know her from the wonderful Soapteen.com.  I really want to offer you guys a lot more than just pictures and news.  We want to take the site to the next step so we’ll be offering loads more media content.  That’s where Colleen comes in – she’ll be uploading Stephanie clips to the media vault gallery for us.

Why hello, hope eveything is going good with you guys.  Thanks for helping make SSO | The No. 1 gallery on the web with over 100,000 views!  I’ve added some exclusive content to the gallery in regards to Days…  4 July episodic stills have been uploaded to the gallery.  These pictures are only viewable to registered member so to see exclusive content you have to register.  Shelley looks cute and it’s getting me excited for this France/Stax/Melanie/Trent storyline.  But if they put a map of France up before they show Steph and Max one more time I will scream.  Here’s a small preview of the images:

I’ve uploaded the daily caps for 07/16/08 and some new scans.  I’ve had them for awhile but finally have gotten around to putting them up.  In the one Star Style scan there seems to be a bloe mark on SHelley’s nose – no clue how that got there since it’s not on the magazine – it might have been the scanner I used.

Did you guys check out todays episode?  Wow I’m loving feisty Steph – a lot.  She has some edge to her and Shelley’s doing wonderful.  In a day or so (maybe tonight since I have no work tomorrow) I’ll describe the scans and picture them on here.  I think I have more to upload (once they’re located and found) – all should be done before the summer is out and my senior year begins.
