Cassie Blake was a happy, normal teenage girl – until her mother Amelia dies in what appears to be a tragic accidental fire. Orphaned and deeply saddened, Cassie moves in with her warm and loving grandmother Jane in the beautiful small town of Chance Harbor, Washington – the town her mother left so many years before – where the residents seem to know more about Cassie than she does about herself. Congrats to Shelley and the cast of the upcoming CW series!

According to Variety…

The CW has made its first series pickups for the new season, greenlighting “Hart of Dixie,” “Secret Circle” and “Ringer.”

“Ringer” will bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back to the network in a show that revolves around a woman who hides out as her twin sister. Project came from CBS’ development slate.

Reality skein “H8R,” from producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, is also said to be close to an order.

Word is there may still be a shot for zombie drama “Awakening.”

“Hart of Dixie,” from Warner Bros. TV and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire banner, stars Rachel Bilson as a New York doctor who faces culture shock when she inherits a small-town practice.

“Secret Circle” also comes from WBTV and a prominent CW showrunner, “Vampire Diaries’ ” Kevin Williamson. It centers on a young woman who moves to a new town and discovers she’s a witch.

CW presents its sked to advertisers on Thursday.

With Fox done with its series orders and NBC pretty much done too, attention is focusing on ABC and CBS (CW). ABC is expected to make its series pickups tomorrow. Here is the latest buzz on the two networks:

The major Network Upfronts will begin next week and rounding out the week will be The CW. Here are the details regarding their presentation venue.

So if The Secret Circle has been picked up for the 2011-2012 Fall Season odds are Shelley will be there among her co-stars to greet the press and discuss their upcoming show.

TVGuide has compiled a list of 11 pilots that they deem promising for the upcoming 2011-2012 season and Shelley’s pilot made the cut!

Starring: Britt Robertson (Life Unexpected)
Summary: Based on the three-book series from The Vampire Diaries author L.J. Smith, the drama focuses on Cassie (Robertson), a young girl who loses her mother, moves to a new town and discovers that she is a witch, the key to a battle between good and evil.
Pedigree: Diaries’ Kevin Williamson will executive-produce.
Why we like it: The series has the same dreamy atmospherics as that show over in Mystic Falls, but has the advantage of just one brand of supernatural being.
Why it has a shot: It worked before!

Here we go baby! Here’s the latest from Ms. Nellie at Deadline Hollywood

In today’s screening, Kevin Williamson’s pilot THE SECRET CIRCLE lived up to the hype and now firmly holds the frontrunner position with medical drama HART OF DIXIE. HEAVENLY and procedural COOPER & STONE are still behind, followed by zombie drama AWAKENING and DANNI LOWINSKI, with the latter not as bad as many think but probably not good enough to make the cut to series.
