Shelley was mentione in an online article for Variety.  The article discusses Joan See, who has runs the School for Film and TV in New York City for almost three decades; and how she’s helping young actors through the school.

Here’s what Shelley had to say:

In her second year, the school’s most recent prize pupil, Shelley Hennig, 21, a former Miss Teen USA from Louisiana, went to her first audition for a recurring part in NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” and landed the role.

But Hennig took a roundabout journey to soap stardom. “I really didn’t have any ambition to become an actor,” she says. “I never acted in plays in high school and, except for ‘Full House,’ I never watched much TV.”

Even when she won Miss Teen USA, which included a scholarship to the School for Film and TV, she moved to New York more as a lark than anything else.

“But from my first day in class I fell in love with acting, and became obsessed with it,” she says. “I really kicked butt in the school.”

One of her advantages, she says, is that “I brought a clean slate. Some of the kids who had studied theater acting in high school had to strip themselves of their stage habits.”

 Shelley was recently featured in Soap Opera Digest in their Buzz Barometer section of the magazine and I’ve scanned and uploaded it to the gallery.  You can find out what shows she’s missing (due to the WGA strike), which American Idol judge she thinks is usually right, which public figure’s book she’s read and more.

I really enjoyed reading this because it was funny to see that her answers are sometimes the same as the other two soap stars, Michael Park, (Jack, ATWT) and Kristen Renton, (Morgan), they interviewed.

I’ve also been very been busy finding things in my room to upload to the SSO gallery as well as looking around on the net for various things.

I’ve uploaded the  02/20/2008 screencaps to the gallery and I’ll have the following day as well as the next week episode uploaded ASAP.

In other news we now have a domain name!  Once it settles and starts to act right – you will be able to access SSO via http://shelley-hennig.com. We’re so very happy that we have this now, so that you don’t have to type in the long URL but if you like doing it that way no worries – you can still use that link. 

The majority of the screencaps are uploaded from 02-01-08 – 02-18-08.  I have a couple of more dates to retrieve and that will be finished.  Then I can start adding the Magazine category to the site and finally get those uploaded.  It’s about 5:35 a.m. and I am tired so I’ll finish later today.  Enjoy!

Sooo Ms. Shelley relayed to me that there was a mention of her and Darin in the magazine Entertainment Weekly, and it’s a good thing I immediately went out (day after, after I awoke) to get the magazine since they were about to purge it and put the new one up in its place.

The magazine has an article about how your favorite prime-time shows may not be back on air for a month, but until then you can find the same drama in daytime.  They make comparisons between some hit shows and the daytime drama that sort of mirrors it.  Soooo

IF YOU MISS… Brothers & Sisters (ABC) … THEN WATCH Days Of Our Lives. 

They compare Shelley and Darin’s Days characters to that of B&S’s Justin & Rebecca who are related as half-brother and sister and do have very awkward sexual tension.  I like them as well because Dave and Emily too have amazing chemistry.  

I’m discussing this with one of my best friends in the whole world who wants to get a domain name for SSO so you don’t have to type the current long URL in.  This will help us out a lot and if we make this happen I’ll keep you posted.  I believe you’d still be allowed to use the current URL but it will redirect you to the new one if/when we get that.

 Note: Most of the screencaps have been added to the FTP and are just waiting for me to “Batch Add” them and the new system I told you guys about way back when is turning out to be great!  I’m now making 200 or less screencaps for the site.  It’s much more efficient and now you don’t have to trek your way through 900 caps of the daily episodes!
